Man knocks mom to ground, kidnaps toddler at a Massachusetts play center

Police arrested a man on Saturday who reportedly knocked down a mom and grabbed a 2-year-old little girl from the Pump N Jump play center in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

The Enterprise reports that Benjamin Rosado, 58, the child’s father, entered the Pump N Jump at North Main Street while the toddler was attending a birthday party. He reportedly shoved the little girl’s mother to the ground and held a knife to her throat. He then grabbed the toddler and dashed out.

Police and family members followed Rosado as he made his way down Main Street, crossing over into the Brockton line. As he entered a Pine Grove Drive housing complex, police detained him and led the toddler back to safety. Brockton EMT examined the little girl and found no injuries.

Authorities transferred a handcuffed Rosado back to West Bridgewater, where he’s facing three counts of assault with a deadly weapon. His reported bail amount is $2,040.

So far, it’s unclear why Rosado grabbed the child. There’s still no details regarding the issues between the suspect and the child’s mother that led to the abduction.
