A judge has been forced to delay a pre-trial hearing for the woman accused of killing her son and dumping his body in a “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” suitcase in rural Indiana because the defendant won’t cooperate with two psychological exams the judge required before he determines if she is competent to stand trial.
Judge Larry Medlock pushed Dejaune Anderson’s hearing back to July 11.
Anderson fired her public defender after falsely claiming he was President Joe Biden’s grandson and has also claimed that federal authorities have been watching her every move, as CrimeOnline reported. She is filing handwritten motions in the court and signing her name as “Princess Califia Hatun Tupak Bey II, representing entity Dejuane L. Anderson.”
Both doctors assigned to conduct the exams have been unable to complete them, Anderson has said in her handwritten filings, WHAS reported. She told the court that Dr. Stephanie Calloway could not complete her assessment because she didn’t have all Anderson’s motions, and she chose to “remain silent” and not participate in an exam by Dr. George Parker.
Parker, Anderson wrote, “exuded negative energy from his aura,” prompting her to “protect myself and my thoughts.” Parker observed Anderson via video camera “while she was in meditation and prayer with God.”
Five-year-old Cairo Jordan was found dead in the colorful hardshell suitcase in rural Washington County on April 16, 2022, but it wasn’t until October that year that his body was identified. Investigators identified Anderson and a second woman, Dawn Coleman, as suspects in the boys death, and Coleman was soon arrested in California.
She pleaded guilty in November 2023 to conspiracy and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Anderson, however, remained on the run. Coleman told investigators she helped Anderson put Cairo’s body in the suitcase in Louisville, Kentucky, and then they drove across the Ohio River into Indiana, where Coleman left the suitcase in the woods.
Court documents also said that Coleman and Anderson made several social media posts referring to Cairo as a “demon,” and Anderson reportedly said she had written a “book about living with a demonic child.”
Anderson was arrested in a Los Angeles suburb in March and brought back to Indiana. At her arraignment, she told Judge Larry Medlock she wanted to represent herself and that she’d been followed by the US Space Force and the National Security Administration for months.
It’s not clear what will happen if the psychological exams remain incomplete by the July 11 hearing. Anderson is being held without bond.
