Michigan Stranger Breaks up Kids’ Game of Catch by ‘Grabbing, Tickling, and Holding’ Children

A Michigan man has been jailed on attempted kidnapping charges after he jumped into the middle of a game of catch at a Pincknwy park on Friday and started touching the children.

Police said Jeremy Mills, 38, made the children “uneasy” with his “grabbing, tickling, and holding.”

Mills threw a football at officers who were called to the scene and then told them he was a friend of the children’s parents. Witnesses, however, said they heard him tell the children he was their uncle. In truth he was lying and didn’t know the kids or their parents, WJBK reported.

Police said in a report that Mills “repeatedly” grabbed one young boy, who thought he was being kidnapped. The boy’s parents called for him to come to them, but Mills allegedly blocked his path.

Investigators said the suspect appeared intoxicated and resisted arrest. When he was finally handcuffed and led away from the park, he began yelling obscenities.

Mills was jailed on multiple charges, including attempted abduction and resisting, and was given a $100,000 bond, according to WJBK.

Police said the incident took place during a regular “Food Truck Friday” event. Pinckney is a small village outside Ann Arbor with a population of about 2,400.
