A toddler in Nueces County, Texas, has died after accidentally shooting himself in the face on Sunday.

According to KIII News, a 2-year-old boy in Corpus Christi was rushed to the Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital on Sunday after he somehow got a hold of a gun and shot himself in the face. He was treated for his injuries there, but eventually succumbed and was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon.

Authorities have not yet revealed the identify of the child or his parents. This is a developing story and will be updated when more information becomes available.
