An Ohio man pleaded not guilty on Friday to chasing a family member with a hatchet.
The Blade reports that 63-year-old Noel E. Dawson Jr., of Toledo, is accused of becoming so angry at a family member that he chased him to his truck with a hatchet. The frightened family member got into his truck just in time before Dawson allegedly threw the hatchet at him, which hit the truck instead of the victim.
When police arrived at the scene, Dawson reportedly started shouting curse words at them and wouldn’t give up any information. He was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal damaging and failure to disclose personal information, both misdemeanors.
A Toledo Municipal Court judge set Dawson’s bond at $50,000 without the possibility of paying 10% for release.
