UPDATE: Amanda Brown has been found safe, and no criminal activity was linked to her disappearance.

Original Story:

Police are urging the public to be on the lookout for a woman who vanished in Sherman, Texas, on Friday.

Amanda Brown, 38, has not been since Friday morning when she left for a walk from the El Dorado mobile home park.

“She went to go out for a walk and was never heard from again,” Brown’s cousin, Brittainy Wagner, told KTEN.

“She just vanished without saying anything to anyone,” said Brad Lewis, Brown’s bother.

“She left her vehicle, her purse filled with all of her belongings,” he said. Her keys, wallet and cell phone were all left behind.

Family contacted police after Brown’s daughters called relatives to say their mother hadn’t come home. Those who know Brown say something like this is out of character.

They began searching for Brown in a wooded area behind a nearby mall.

“Maybe, you know, she got injured in the woods,” Wagner told the news station. “Then, of course, your mind sometimes goes to some really dark places.”

Brown is described as being 5’5” to 5’7″ tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes. When she was last seen, she was wearing pink plaid pajamas, tennis shoes, and eyeglasses.

Anyone with information about Amanda Brown’s whereabouts is urged to contact Sherman police at  (903) 892-7290.
