Prosecutors in New Mexico are preparing for the trials of the three adults charged with the brutal murder of ten-year-old Victoria Martens.
The accused include the little girl’s own mother, and a convicted rapist.
According to the news station KOAT, Michelle Martens confessed to police that she watched and did nothing while Fabian Gonzales and Jessica Kelley — a convicted rapist — sexually assaulted, strangled and dismembered Victoria, who had begged for mercy. It was the day after the girl’s tenth birthday. The mother admitted that watching her daughter’s rape gave her “sexual gratification.”

Martens reportedly told police that she and Kelley injected the little girl with meth, and that the women watched as Gonzales, Michelle’s boyfriend, sexually assaulted Victoria. He then strangled her to death, according to the mother’s report, and Jessica stabbed the girl’s body repeatedly before cutting it into pieces.

The murderers reportedly removed some of the girl’s organs. Her heart was found in a plastic bag in a laundry basket at the home.
“I let them do it,” Martens said, according to transcripts obtained by WREG.
Martens told police that shortly after the murder, she and Fabian had sex, and the three later made dinner together.
An autopsy found that Victoria had alcohol in her system at the time of death, and had the HPV virus, a sexually transmitted disease. No meth was found in her system, despite her mother’s claim.
The transcripts revealed that Gonzales had sexually assaulted Victoria on a daily basis during the month before she died, and took photos and video of the assault.
The mother further confessed to letting random men rape her daughter. She reportedly told police she met one at work and another online. According to KOAT, Michelle may have also let those men sexually assault her young son.
All three defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
According to a report from news station KOB 4, Gonzales said Jessica Kelley is responsible. The report says that the three defendants will be tried separately, as prosecutors have asked the judge for more time on what they say is a complicated case.
Pretrial hearings are set to begin in August.
