Cassie and Jezzie Whitney: Missing Kentucky sisters found safe!

Cassie Whitney and Jezzie Whitney have been found safe, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. Both girls were found in a home in Smith’s Grove, Kentucky, on Monday, and were taken into social services custody. The two girls disappeared earlier month, shortly after attending their father’s funeral.

So far, authorities released only a few details. It’s unclear whether the girls were found with their mother, Melissa Scott.

Jessie, 13, and Cassie, 11, attended the funeral service for their father, Larry Whitney Jr., on May 18 in Scottsville, Kentucky. Both girls were assigned to the Department of Protection and Permanency for custody, but caseworkers were unable to find the girls after the funeral. Police stated that the kids could likely be with their mother.
