A Virginia woman has pled guilty to child pornography charges related to the abuse of a teenage girl. Kelly Denise Claytor, 46, was indicted in a case in which she encouraged the 16-year-old-girl to have a sexual relationship with 70-year-old former dentist Houston Marion Miller, reported the The News Virginian.
Claytor and the married Miller had been in an adulterous relationship for several years before they decided to bring a 16-year-old girl into the mix in the spring of 2016. Claytor encouraged the relationship and sent photos of the girl to Miller.
Charges were brought against Miller and Claytor last November after the girl disclosed the relationship to a friend during a sleepover. The friend’s father took the girl to the authorities.
Miller will appear in court July 31 on three charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, one count of sexual battery and possession of child pornography.
According to The News Virginian, Miller attempted to obstruct the investigation by burning a bedspread and attempting to delete images of the victim from his cellphone. Miller is currently under house arrest with an ankle monitor.
According to news station WHSV, Miller was an Augusta County magistrate for eight years. A magistrate can issue arrest warrants, grant search warrants and set bond in criminal cases.
How Miller and Claytor knew the girl before the crimes is unclear.
Following her plea, Claytor was remanded to the Middle River Regional Jail reported Newsleader. She faces a minimum sentence of three years and a maximum of 51 years. She will be sentenced September 15.
