Original Story:
A 14-year-old Texas girl has been missing since Monday night when she went to take her dog for a walk.
The dog has since been found abandoned but there is no sign of the young girl.
According to the Dallas News, Kaytlynn Cargill was last seen around 6:30 Monday evening when she took her dog for a walk near the Oak Creek Apartments in Bedford, Texas, where she reportedly lives.
Kaytlynn’s mother Trisha West told the newspaper that she went out to look for her daughter when she didn’t return as expected.
“I went out looking for her after she didn’t come back for like 30 minutes,” West told the Dallas News on Tuesday.
The girl’s mother found the dog tied to a fence at a nearby dog park. A friend of Kaytlynn’s reportedly told West that the teen had asked some others at the park to keep an eye on the dog for a minute. It is not known where she went at that time, and she never returned.
Police told the newspaper they are not treating Kaytlynn’s disappearance as an abduction at this time, as there is no evidence she was kidnapped, and believe she may be a runaway.
Trisha West published a Facebook post asking anyone who has information on Kaytlynn’s whereabout to please contact her. (The phone number is provided in the link).
The Bedford Police Department has also urged anyone with information to contact them at 817-952-2440.
