An Idaho mom was arrested after crashing her car full of kids and blowing over four times the legal limit on her roadside Breathalyzer test.
Lauren Weeks, 37, of Rexford, Idaho was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of excessive driving under the influence, possessing an open container while driving, and injury to child by transporting while under the influence, after the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 20, reported East Idaho News.
Authorities arrived at the scene and found Weeks inside a 2005 GMC Yukon with four children inside. She had rear-ended a vehicle, drove off the road through a fence and come to a stop on railroad tracks.
One child complained of chest pains and all four children were taken to a local hospital where they received treatment for minor injuries. The ages of the children are unknown, as is the relationship between Weeks and her young passengers.
Sheriff officers on scene reported smelling alcohol on Weeks. They also noted she was slurring her words and her eyes were bloodshot and glossy. When they administered a Breathalyzer test Weeks first blew a .312. The second test indicated a blood alcohol level of .306. The legal limit in Idaho is .08.
Weeks allegedly admitted to being “a little tipsy” after spending the day drinking at a local water park. She was found to be in possession of a sports drink bottle containing wine and a half empty wine box, reports the East Idaho News.
Weeks has pled not guilty to the charges. She remains in the Madison County Jail on $25,000 bond.
