A woman who considers herself a “born-again Christian” was brutally attacked and raped while leaving church services in New York City on Tuesday night.

New York Daily News reports that the victim, 50, was leaving services at the Celestial Church of Christ in Queens at around 11 p.m. when five men snatched her away. Two of the men initially approached her off of Liberty Ave. near 150th St. and pointed a gun at her. After cornering her, they first demanded cash, then called three of their friends over and forced her to strip in the street and give three of them oral sex.

“They said, ‘If you don’t do that, I’ll shoot you.’ So I did what I had to do,” the victim said. “I thought it was a joke at first, but when I turned he put the gun to my forehead and repeated himself, saying ‘Give me all the money.'”

When she informed them she had no money, they demanded that she leave her wallet on the ground and “strip.” After the assault, they grabbed her cellphone and metro card before fleeing.

The victim said she tried to scare them by telling them she was HIV positive (she isn’t), but that didn’t deter them.

“You’re a stupid African woman,” one of the men reportedly said before he slapped her.

Police obtained a DNA sample from a condom one of the men put on before forcing the victim to perform oral sex. The suspect threw the used condom behind a garbage truck. The victim’s sweater is also being tested for the men’s DNA.

“There are just mean, hooligan guys who wanted to rob and sleep with somebody. If they just wanted money, they should have left. But they wanted more,” the victim said.

The woman ran back to her church after the men left, and her pastor took her to a nearby hospital.
