A St. Petersburg, Florida, woman is accused of goading her 16-year-old daughter into fighting a girl who’s six months pregnant.
Celena Sherri Troupe, 34, allegedly saw her daughter brawling another girl Friday. Instead of stopping the altercation, police said Troupe encouraged her to keep fighting, according to The Smoking Gun.
“The defendant [Troupe] did not make any effort to stop or restrain her daughter from fighting during the first two to three minutes of the altercation,” the officer alleged in the arrest affidavit. “The defendant did have prior knowledge that the other minor was pregnant at the time.”
An onlooker allegedly taped the violent ordeal, which can be viewed below. The video, obtained by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, supposedly shows Troupe yelling “beat her ass!” Neither of the teens was injured in Friday’s scuffle, according to the Miami Herald.
Not only does the mother not step in, numerous people can be seen egging on the girls as they fought in the street.
The Smoking Gun pointed out that Troupe is a convicted felon who has served two terms in Florida prisons, the latest being a two-year bid ending in April 2013. Specifically, the mother was sentenced to prison for petty theft and failure to appear in court, a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office subject charge report revealed.
Three months after her release, the 34-year-old was arrested in Georgia for escorting without a license. She ultimately pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge.
Troupe was charged with felony child abuse. The St. Petersburg woman was released Friday night after posting $5,000 bond.
