Surveillance cameras caught the chilling moments a robber attacked a teen during a violent home invasion.
KNBC reports that the terrifying ordeal occurred in Riverside, California, at around 2 p.m. Sunday. The 17-year-old’s sister, only identified as “Nicole,” claimed the man pushed the girl inside the home and held a machete to her face.
Nicole told the news station that her sister was outside caring for the family dog when a woman approached her and sparked a brief conversation. She said the woman and a man then followed the victim to the front door. Nicole claimed the man pulled a mask over his face before pushing her sister inside the Riverside residence.
“They had a hatchet to her face when they had her in a headlock,” Nicole told the local station.
Cameras also captured another man wiping down the front door, presumably in an attempt remove fingerprint evidence, and entering the home.
The girls’ mother claimed the suspects stole jewelry, $5,000, and other miscellaneous items during Sunday’s ordeal. The woman said they were saving the cash to buy their daughter a new car. Though the victim is physically okay, Nicole said she is terrified to be alone.
The Riverside Police Department said they are searching for three suspects:
- A Black woman in her 20s, approximately 5’0” tall, 150 pounds, and with black shoulder-length hair. She was wearing a black T-shirt with white stripes, black pants, and a white headband at the time of the incident.
- A Black man in his 40’s with facial hair. He was last seen wearing a gray long sleeve shirt, black pants, and black shoes.
- A second Black man with black hair. He was seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt, tan pants, blue baseball cap, and a yellow reflective construction type vest.
Authorities are also investigating whether the robbery was targeted.
