Police this week arrested an Arizona couple for allegedly pressuring their 15-year-old babysitter to have sex with them, the Arizona Republic reports.
Jefferey Swartz, 27, and his wife, Samantha Ohlman, 23, met the girl through her brother, authorities have indicated.
The husband and wife had asked the victim to babysit their kids after she and her brother had gone to the couple’s home in May to help them with their swimming pool.
The first encounter allegedly happened that same month when Ohlman asked the girl if she wanted to have sex with her and Swartz.
The victim responded that she wasn’t sure because it would be awkward given their age differences, police note.
Despite the victim’s hesitation, Ohlman is said to have invited the girl to spend the night at the home. The girl subsequently agreed, the New York Post reports.
Ohlman later presented multiple sex toys to the victim and various pieces of lingerie before Swartz got home from work, cops allege.
After an oil bath for the victim and multiple offers, the girl allegedly had sex with the couple. She told investigators that she had “felt pressured” to have sex with the adults in light of their repeated advances.
The three had a second sexual encounter in the middle of July, this time with Ohlman allegedly recording the victim having intercourse with Swartz.
The victim had requested that she not be recorded, but Ohlman wouldn’t stop, investigators say, telling the girl “that they always record the time they have sex with other people.”
Ohlman then allegedly showed the victim a video of Swartz having sex with another female.
The victim told a grandparent about the sexual encounters in early August, prompting the grandparent to notify the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
Swartz initially denied the allegations but Ohlman eventually admitted to them.
Prosecutors charged the couple with sexual conduct with a minor, furnishing obscene material to a minor, luring a minor for sexual exploitation and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Bond for both has been set at $25,000.
They have a court appearance scheduled on September 7.
