Florida authorities announced that a 5-year-old boy who was pulled from a St. Petersburg harbor on Wednesday has died.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, the boy, recently identified as Jamirreeus Broward, went fishing with his family at Poynter Park Wednesday night when something went awry. Police said the child was last seen along the sea wall and his mother reported him missing at around 7 p.m.

WFTS reports that a dive team located the unresponsive 5-year-old in the water at 7:28 p.m. and that paramedics performed CPR. Emergency staff transported him to the hospital in critical condition, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
His family has yet to make an announcement on the death of Broward and police have yet to detail how the boy ended up missing in the water.
