The boyfriend who allegedly murdered Laura Wallen told the pregnant Maryland teacher’s father that he had no contact with another woman for two years, but that was before police revealed Tyler Tessier was actually living with and was engaged to the second woman.
“He is a monster and he is a liar,” Mark Wallen said of the man accused of killing his daughter.
Wallen’s father and mother pretended at the request of police to not suspect Tessier, 32, while holding hands with him at a news conference. It was part of a strategy by detectives to get their person of interest to incriminate himself, investigators said. It was a very uncomfortable sitation, the father said. Wallen’s body was found in a shallow grave with a gunshot wound to the back of her head just hours after the news conference.
Nancy Grace discusses the investigation with Cold Case Research Institute director Sheryl McCollum, Los Angeles psychoanalyst Dr. Bethany Marshall, and CrimeOnline reporter Leigh Egan in this Crime Stories episode.
Nancy and her experts also look at the first week of testimony in the trial of the Tennessee man accused of kidnapping, raping and killing Holly Bobo. One man testified that he acted as a lookout while Zachary Adams murdered the 20-year-old, saying that he even helped to bury her body.
