Former Spice Girl Mel B was denied her request to keep the details of her domestic violence case against her estranged husband under wraps.
TMZ reports that a judge rejected her request to have the court records sealed and the courtroom closed during Stephen Bellafonte’s upcoming domestic violence trial.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Mel B was granted a restraining order against her estranged husband in April. In court filings she accused him of sustained physical and psychological abuse, and claimed that she and her children lived in fear of him.
She has also accused her husband of impregnating the couple’s nanny, and arranging a sham marriage for the nanny in order to keep her in the country. The nanny reportedly said in a deposition that she had threesomes with the couple, but had also had sex with Bellafonte alone. She claimed that Mel B had supplied her with cocaine.
More recently, Mel B told the judge that her estranged husband was intending to share the couple’s private sex tapes, and asked the judge to seal her divorce and restraining order case to prevent their children from being exposed to the tapes.
But the judge reportedly determined that “salacious details” were not enough to warrant the case being sealed. The judge said that he would review evidence separately to determine which items should be made public and which will be sealed.
