Sarah and Jacob Hoggle were 4 and 2 years old when they vanished two years ago. Their mother Catherine Hoggle told police she gave them away because of her broken relationship with their father, but prosecutors accuse the 30-year-old Maryland woman of murdering her two children.
Hoggle, who has been in a mental health facility since her arrest soon after the children disappeared, was recently indicted for their murders and moved to a jail. But she cannot be tried until a judge determines is mentally competent to defend herself. There is a chance that Hoggle could go free if she is not tried on the murder charge within five years.
Nancy Grace is joined by Sheryl McCollum, director of the Cold Case Research Institute and Crime Stories contributing reporter Cheryl White to discuss this case.
