The father of the a baby recently found deceased in a wooded area in Covington, Georgia, is in custody for probation violation, Newton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Chris McNabb is being questioned about the infant, but according to Newton County Sheriff’s Office, he’s not currently charged in the death of his 2-week-old daughter, Caliyah McNabb. Authorities arrested McNabb around an hour after the baby’s body was found.
The infant girl was reported missing from her family’s home on October 7. The parents said they fed the baby at 5 a.m. When they checked in on her at 10 a.m., they said they discovered her missing.
Search volunteers found the body of an infant in a nearby wooded area on Sunday, close to her family home. Family members indicated that the baby was Caliyah, but authorities reported that a medical examiner has not yet officially confirmed it.

Shortly after the search volunteers found the infant, McNabb fled. The baby’s mother, Courtney Bell, fully cooperated with police and went to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.
Newton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with CrimeOnline that McNabb is behind bars on unrelated charges of probation violation only at this time.
