A naked Arizona woman allegedly caught her kitchen on fire when she tried to cook a cat, according to the Arizona Daily Star.
She then allegedly tried to stab a fire captain responding to the scene. Thankfully, a jacket prevented the knife from penetrating the firefighter’s chest.
KVOA reports firefighters kept a safe distance as Ebony Hurndon, 41, stood in her doorway threatening to stab anyone who attempted to enter her apartment.
At some point during the incident Friday morning, however, reports indicate firefighters were able to get close enough to see the cat on top of Hurndon’s stove.
Officers who responded to the scene reportedly used a stun gun to restrain Hurndon.
Firefighters provided KVOA with cell phone footage taken at the scene. The video shows several members of law enforcement who responded to the scene. It captured a smoky apartment and the chaotic moments when several firefighters can be seen working to get the situation under control.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and Hurndon was taken into custody.
KYMA reports the cat did not survive the incident. The firefighter did not suffer any injuries.
Hurndon now faces a slew of charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, arson of an occupied structure and animal cruelty, according to the Associated Press.
Reports did not indicate whether Hurndon sustained any injuries.
