Pennsylvania police are searching for a Shenandoah father who allegedly shot his daughter’s boyfriend in the groin Sunday afternoon.
WDAF reported that Donald Jenkins Jr., 40, opened fire on the 20-year-old male after catching the couple in a hotel room near Frackville. Investigators believe that Jenkins was angry that his daughter was dating the victim.
Housekeeper Lisa Mowery was cleaning the room next door when she recalled hearing a gunshot. She told WNEP that she gave the victim towels to stop the bleeding.
“I was scared, you know, I was scared to death,” Mowery said. “I just stayed in the room because I didn’t know if he was going to shoot us.”
The victim supposedly told police that he was sitting on a bed when Jenkins entered the room and an argument ensued. Troopers said the Jenkins wounded the man, whose identity wasn’t released, in the upper leg and groin before fleeing the scene, according to The Morning Call.
Police also said that Jenkins’ daughter rented the room from Saturday through Monday. Her identity and age are also being withheld at this time.
The victim is being hospitalized for his injuries. Meanwhile, Jenkins, who is on the run, was charged with multiple offenses, including attempted homicide, burglary, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person, a warrant obtained by Lehigh Valley Live indicated.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about Donald Jenkins Jr.’s whereabouts is instructed to call Frackville troopers at 570-874-5300.
