An Idaho mother is accused of brutally beating her children after they ate a tub of ice cream.
Fox News reports that Priscilla Zapata allegedly shaved her two daughters’ heads after discovering they had eaten the ice cream, in addition to severely beating all four of her children — two boys and two girls — and biting one daughter’s ear.
One daughter reportedly told police that her mother choked her so violently that she was lifted off the ground, and that was afraid her mother would kill her.
According to court documents obtained by KTVB, the girl told police “felt like [she] was going to die,” and “like [she] was already dead” while her mother was choking her.
One girl told officers that she remained silent while her mother was shaving her head, fearful that Zapata would cut her if she said anything,
The court documents state that Zapata, 26, told relatives that she “lost it” when she discovered her children had eaten the ice cream.
The mother was reportedly charged with four felony counts of injury to a child, and could face up to ten years in prison on each count if she is convicted.
Zapata is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in early November, and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has taken custody of the children.
