Police in Sarasota, Florida, arrested a man on Thursday after his wife reportedly found a thumb drive full of child pornography files in his dresser drawer and contacted police.
Charles Gilbert Parsons, 48, was charged with 40 counts of child pornography after his wife found the thumb drive containing over 2,076 images of what she said looked to be young girls between the ages of 6 and 8 performing sex acts, WKRN reports.
The wife, Yulia Parsons, called police on November 13 to report her husband to authorities. She said her husband had been acting odd recently, so she was searching the house to find anything that could explain his secretive behavior.
Detectives executed a search warrant and found the thumb drive full of the 2,076 images and 40 videos, all of child porn.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited children was given 898 of the files. Of those, 162 were identified as known victims of child pornography, and the center recognized 629 victims of child pornography who have not been identfied. There were 196 files that showed victims who were not previously recognized from previous child pornography.
Parsons was arrested on Thursday and taken to the Sarasota County Jail. He is currently being held there on no bond, according to a report by the Palm Beach Post.
Police continue to investigate the case.
