Authorities say a Florida woman brandished a knife and threatened her son and mother during a domestic incident last week.
According to the Palm Beach Post, 41-year-old Lisa Metzger was arrested after she said she had been arguing with her mother about an iPad her son allegedly lost.
Police responded to the suspect’s Boca Raton home around 10 a.m. on November 21 after receiving a report of a possible stabbing.
Investigators say the suspect told them she had recently learned she owed her son’s school $400 for the lost tablet computer. At one point during the argument that ensued, she said she tried to “prove a point” to her insolent son by threatening him with a knife.
Metzger’s mother was reportedly at the home during the altercation and offered to pay the school for the missing iPad. The suspect, who believed her son should be financially responsible, then allegedly pulled a knife on her mother and threatened to kill her.
Her mother contacted police at that point, telling officers that she had never seen her daughter “so angry.”
Police say they interviewed the suspect’s son, however, and he did not accuse his mother of pulling a knife on him or committing any other crime.
Metzger was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of aggravated battery on a person over 65 and battery on law enforcement officers, the New York Daily News reported.
The latter count reportedly stemmed from Metzger kicking two officers in their legs as they took her into custody.
She was reportedly released from county jail on $6,000 bond the day after her arrest.
