An investigation is underway after a father and his two children were found dead in their Texas home early Saturday in an apparent murder-suicide.
KDAF reported that the children’s uninjured mother called 911 from their North Richland Hills home. The mother allegedly told police that her husband and their 5-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son were all shot. All three were reported dead at the scene.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicated that the father shot his two children before turning the gun on himself. They also told KTVT that there was no history of 911 calls placed from their address.

Neighbors claimed the family moved into the North Richland home a few months ago. Witnesses said that the grieving mother was taken away by ambulance early Saturday.
“I never saw the man. Never. I really thought she was a single parent,” resident Denise Albino told WFAA.
Tanner Franklin, who lives across the street, recalled hearing a strange noise at around 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

“Me and my girlfriend were getting ready to leave for work and we had one of the windows open,” Franklin told the Star-Telegram.
“We heard some weird like yelp-type thing. She was like, ‘Did you hear that?’ I thought it was an animal or something.”
Police declined to publicly identify the victims as they conduct their investigation.
