A California mom whose abduction last year making headlines across the nation, has been living “as a recluse” for the past year, yet was spotted this week leaving her home with her husband and enjoying a casual outing.
DailyMail reports that Sherri Papini left her Shasta Lake home alongside her husband, Keith, 34, which garnered attention since she’s rarely stepped outside of her residence after her Nov. 2016 kidnapping —an incident that left her beaten, branded, and left for dead on Interstate 5, near Yolo, California,.
The couple apparently enjoyed lunch together at the MOD Pizza restaurant in Redding, oblivious to a photographer sneaking in shots of them.
“Sherri did not say anything the entire time. She clung tight on to her husband and when it came to order food, she didn’t even look at anybody,” said a witness who spotted the couple. “Just kind of didn’t make eye contact with anybody.”

Another witness told DailyMail the couple later shopped at a Costco store.
Neighbors indicated that they hardly saw Papini outside of her home, not even to check her mail. Yet, lately, they reported she’s started to step out much more and go to her kids’ school or hang out in her yard while reading a book.
