A former high school student reportedly told police that he would “no longer lie” about his sexual relationship with his English teacher after the woman allegedly said the teen “ruined her life.”
Patch reported that prosecutors officially charged Samantha Ciotta, 32, of Beaumont, California, Monday with oral copulation with a minor and two counts of sexual intercourse with the underage boy. Police said they began an investigation after a Snapchat video surfaced that supposedly showed Ciotta in “a shirt and panties” and drinking alcohol with two shirtless minors.
La Quinta High School hired Ciotta as a guest teacher in 2011 and then brought her on as an English teacher. The Desert Sands Unified School District said Ciotta resigned in good standing in 2015, according to KESQ.
Documents indicated that the teen originally told police, “I’m not f**king talking.” However, he reportedly decided to speak out upon learning that Ciotta, after having sex with the boy’s 19-year-old friend, said he “ruined her life,” reports revealed.
The teen allegedly told police that he had intercourse with Ciotta at least five times and that she performed oral sex on him on multiple occasions. However, he said he couldn’t provide an exact number because he was “intoxicated during most of the times,” Patch wrote.
The former teacher was arrested September 20 and is currently free on bond. Though the criminal charges are related to the one student, investigators are working to determine whether Ciotta has victimized other minors.
Ciotta is expected to appear in court on December 27.
