A Colorado teen is behind bars after he stabbed his stepfather to death and posted the gruesome scene on Snapchat, according to Aurora police.
The Denver Post reports that 19-year-old Nickolas Vinson is accused of stabbing his 50-year-old stepfather, Oscar Lemar Owensby, numerous times on Friday night inside their Aurora home. During the final moments of the murder, the teen allegedly logged onto Snapchat and recorded the scene while Owensby died.

“Hey guys I just killed him. I just killed him. I just killed him,” Vinson reportedly said in the video.
The video allegedly showed Owensby face down, drenched in blood, while a frantic woman kneeled over him, screaming.
“Lemar, can you hear me? Can you hear me? No!”
Seconds later, the video panned back on Vinson. Authorities reported that the woman in the video was Vinson’s mother, Celena Vinson, the common-law wife of Owensby. The couple had been together for 14 years.
According to court documents, an argument began when Owensby asked Vinson to contribute to the household and do more chores, which apparently escalated into violence when the pair agreed to duke it out in a physical fight that turned deadly.
At around 7 p.m. on Friday, Vinson allegedly called his brother and admitted he killed Owensby after his stepfather “wanted to throw him out of the house.” Vinson then reportedly fled the scene in his mother’s vehicle.

Celena Vinson told police she witnessed the incident, while the suspect himself allegedly admitted to the murder when a police officer called him. Authorities tried to convince Vinson to turn himself in, but he said he wanted to visit his friends first. Police caught him while driving, and noted he was covered in blood and had a large cut on his hand.
Court records indicate that Owensby was stabbed numerous times with a 7-inch blade knife in the neck, should, back, and side. Authorities reported that one of the stab’s perforated the victim’s aorta. Vinson told police he kept stabbing his father because he wanted to end the fight and didn’t want Owensby to suffer.
Vinson is currently behind bars without bond. He’s charged with first-degree murder.
