An quick thinking Arizona mom saved her child from a reported would-be kidnapper who tried to nab her child while she getting into her car.
ABC15 reports that on Dec. 13, a woman was getting into to her car with her child, off of Gilbert Road and Southern Avenue, when she spotted a man inside her vehicle, who latched onto her little girl’s wrist. According to authorities, Joe Haskie, 43, was inside the woman’s car and after grabbing the child’s wrist, demanded the mom to drive the car.
The victim managed the pull her daughter away and exit the car. She allegedly told Haskie to get out her car, but when he refused, she ran to her home and dialed 911. Police arrived in time to catch Haskie, a man unknown to the woman and her daughter.
Haskie allegedly refused to comply when the officers arrived and refused to exit the vehicle. Authorities reported they used a Taser to get the suspect out of the car, and found him in possesion of methamphetamine and a pipe.
Authorities stated that Haskie was well known to law enforcement and had several previous felonies under his belt, including charges of aggravated assault and burglary. He was arrested and faces numerous charges, included attempted kidnapping and aggravated assault.
Although shaken up from the incident, both mom and daughter were not physically injured.
