Man admits to sexually abusing girl for 8 YEARS, then tells her to ‘get over it’: Police

An Atkins, Arkansas, man who is facing criminal charges for sexually assaulting and raping a girl from the age of 4 to 12 reportedly told the victim years later to “get over it.”

According to the River Valley Leader, the Pope County Sheriff’s Office got involved on August 30, after a woman, who is active duty, claimed she was raped by Ronnie Lynn Gipson throughout her childhood. Gipson, 45, ultimately admitted to the acts and told investigators that he would tell the victim, “Do you want to play?” as code before assaulting her.

Gipson allegedly said he began sexual contact with the girl when she was 3 or 4, as they lived together, and it continued until she was about 12. Police said that he would “get naked with the victim in the bed” and perform sexual acts on her and would force her to reciprocate, the newspaper reported.

During a police interview, the 45-year-old reportedly said he would orally and digitally penetrate the child and confessed to having intercourse with her at least twice. He noted that intercourse occurred when the girl was between 8 and 10 years old.

In a Facebook conversation that was monitored by law enforcement, Gipson allegedly told the victim on December 13  to “get over it” and that “it’s done” after acknowledging that the illicit acts occurred.

Gipson is being held on a $500,000 bond. The Arkansas man faces a minimum of 25 years behind bars if convicted of felony rape charges, according to the River Valley Leader.

A plea arraignment hearing is scheduled for January 22.
