New details surrounding the arrest of Real Housewives of New York star, Luann de Lesseps, are emerging after Florida police detained her for battery, public intoxication, and other offenses.
US Weekly reports that according to a police report written by Officer Robert Mastrangelo with the Palm Beach Police Department, de Lesseps checked in room 327 at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach hotel on Dec 23. She then allegedly trespassed into hotel room 407 with an unknown male. The housekeeping staff reportedly found the pair in bed together and notified the hotel security guard, Carlo Lopez.
Lopez ordered the pair to leave the room, then called the police. When authorities arrived, the reality star’s male friend had left, but her friend Julie Olson was by her side. Responding officers noted that both de Lesseps and Olsen reeked of alcohol and appeared intoxicated.
“It should be noted that both smelled of an unknown alcoholic beverage, had slurred speech and appeared to be heavily intoxicated,” Officer Mastrangelo wrote.
At that point, de Lesseps reportedly locked herself in the hotel bathroom and shoved Palm Beach Officer O’Leary as she walked by “with an open palm to the chest” as the officer tried to detain her. She allegedly “slammed the [bathroom] door on Officer O’Leary’s face, striking him in the forehead,” according to the police report.
The officers managed to remove the reality star from the bathroom. They cuffed her and took her to a patrol car, where she somehow removed her handcuffs, according to the report. She attempted to exit the vehicle but the officers caught her before she could escape.
“De Lesseps was removed from the back of vehicle so I could re-secure the handcuffs on her wrists,” Mastrangelo wrote. “As I was placing De Lesseps in the back into the vehicle, she stated, ‘I’m going to f–king kill you,’ and tried kicking the door to keep it from closing.”
Authorities then took de Lesseps to a holding cell, where she again reportedly threatened to kill them.
De Lesseps’ charges include battery on a firefighter, disorderly intoxication, resisting a police officer with violence, and two charges of corruption by threat of a public servant. She was released on her own recognizance, and within a few days, issued a public apology for her behavior.
“I want to offer my most sincere apologies to anyone that I might have offended with my behavior. This was my first time in Palm Beach since my wedding and being here brought up buried emotions. I am committed to a transformative and hopeful 2018.”
Although the man in bed with de Lesseps still hasn’t been named, her friend indicated it was someone she dated previously.
