Police are investigating a double slaying after finding a Texas couple bound and shot execution-style inside their home in a gated community.
The Houston Chronicle reported that Bao and Jenny Lam, both 61, were both found shot to death late Sunday inside their ransacked Spring home.
“Everything was disturbed. Furniture was overturned, drawers were opened. It will take some time to process the scene,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said, according to KTRK.
The victims’ son reportedly went to the Northgate Forest subdivision home after his parents didn’t answer their phones for two days. The son called police after nobody came to the door. Upon gaining entry, deputies located the couple’s bodies on the first floor, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities believe that the Lams were ambushed Thursday evening as they parked their car in the garage. The Chronicle reported that officials revealed that several firearms and other valuables were taken from the home.
“This may have happened any time after Thursday,” Gonzalez said. “It appears that was the last time of contact.”
A source told KTRK that the crime wasn’t random and that the slain couple was possibly targeted. Neighbors also told the station that Bao owned six Subway franchises in the Houston area.
The sheriff’s office said that investigators might release surveillance footage from the area sometime this week, according to ABC News.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about this case is urged to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-274-9100.
