A teen missing in Illinois was tragically found dead this weekend, and authorities believe the girl may have been murdered.
The LaSalle News-Tribune reports that Diamond M. Bradley, 16, of Spring Valley, was found dead in a ditch this weekend, less than a week after she vanished.
Putnam County authorities told the news outlet that Bradley was found Saturday afternoon along a county highway in rural Granville Township. Police are investigating the death as a homicide.
An autopsy was performed on Sunday but the coroner’s office has not yet released a cause of death.
Diamond had been missing since January 23, and was last seen leaving her home at about 10 p.m. that night.
The owners of a local business, Grandma Rosie’s, wrote in a Facebook post that they would be offering a reward for information leading to an arrest.
Anyone with information about Bradley’s disappearance and death is urged to contact the Putnam County Sheriff’s office at (815) 925-7015.
In a remarkable coincidence, a three-year-old girl by the name of Diamond Bradley vanished, along with her older sister Tionda, from her Chicago home in 2001. The girls have never been found, and there is no connection between the missing persons cases.
