Multiple news outlets this week have released footage of a fatal traffic collision in a Brooklyn crosswalk.
As the New York Post reported, surveillance footage reveals the moment a white sedan drove against a traffic signal through the intersection, plowing through several pedestrians and small children in strollers.
The car can be seen stopping at the red traffic light momentarily before lurching forward and across Fifth Avenue, where it struck a group of mothers and their children.
Reports indicate the vehicle was driven by another mother, 44-year-old Dorothy Bruns.
Two small children, ages 1 and 4, were killed from the impact and multiple adults — including a pregnant mother — sustained serious injuries.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, the pregnant victim is a Tony-award winning actress. Ruthie Anne Miles is expected to survive, though reports about her unborn child’s condition were unclear.
Miles is also the mother of 4-year-old victim Abigail Blumenstein. Lauren Lew, whose 1-year-old son died in the crash, was also injured and is expected to survive.
As WCBS reported, the vehicle continued driving, leaving an array of carnage and debris in its wake.
A stroller belonging to one of the young victims lay mangled in the roadway alongside a sneaker and an assortment of children’s books and accessories.
After the crash, the driver, who suffers from a range of maladies, reportedly claimed she was having a seizure at the time her car hit the pedestrians.
The Post previously reported that Bruns told police she is on medication for a host of issues including multiple sclerosis and heart problems.
