The former nanny on trial for murdering two children in her care reportedly began complaining about the children’s mother as soon as she could communicate from her hospital bed.
The New York Post reports that NYPD Sgt. Yoel Hidalgo testified at Yoselyn Ortega’s murder trial on Thursday that the suspect showed no remorse and did not express any concern for the dead children as she recovered from an apparent suicide attempt.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Marina Krim came home to find her six-year-old daughter Lucia Krim and two-year-old son Leo Krim bleeding from multiple stab wounds and stacked together in a bathtub, clinging to their last moments of life as Ortega stabbed herself in the neck.
Only Ortega would survive the stab wounds. Hidalgo shared with the court messages he had transcribed in her hospital room as she communicated via alphabet board.
“I had to do Everything AND TAKE CARE OF THE KIDS,” Ortega said, according to the sergeant’s testimony.
“I worked as babysitter only and she wanted me to do everything so wanted 5 hours of cleaning every week.”
Ortega has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, and reportedly claimed she has no memory of the murders because she was possessed by the devil at the time.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Ortega met with a psychologist three days before the brutal slayings. The therapist testified in court this week that while Ortega seemed anxious in their meeting, he did not see signs of psychosis.
