A New York man jumped out of a moving car during an argument with his allegedly drunk girlfriend, only to be struck and killed by another car.
The New York Post reports that Arif Hoosein, 30, was in the passenger seat of his girlfriend’s car when they were driving on the Grand Central Parkway early Saturday morning. He and his girlfriend, who has since been charged with a DUI, were reportedly arguing when Hoosein exited the car while it was still in motion.
After he jumped out, Hoosein was hit by a Nissan Sentra driving on the parkway. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead.
Savittrie Beria-Lackhan, Hoosein’s girlfriend, has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. It is not known if she will be facing additional charges.
The driver of the Nissan Sentra reportedly remained on the scene until police arrived and has not been charged.
