An Arkansas teacher is facing more than three years of probation after pleading guilty to sexual indecency with a child.
According to KAIT, 26-year-old Jessie Lorene Goline received a 42-month probated sentence in addition to fines and court costs as part of the recent plea deal. She will also be required to register as a sex offender.
The school began its investigation earlier, when a parent threatened bodily harm against the teacher over accusations of her repeated sexual activity with students.
In a meeting during which she learned the allegations were being turned over to the state’s Crimes Against Children hotline, the principal reportedly asked if she had anything to add.
“I’m not going to lose my husband,” she said.
Detectives obtained evidence of sexually themed text messages between Goline and the students, which was entered into court records related to the case, according to Arkansas Online.
Reports indicate that authorities became aware of allegations that the Marked Tree High School art teacher had invited multiple students to her home to engage in sex with her. Two minors were at her Jonesboro residence on the same night in one case, police said.
One student claimed the teacher drove him from the school to her apartment, where they had sex twice. He said another student was also at the residence.
The victim reportedly told police that he had to convince Goline to return them to the school the same night after she initially requested that they spend the night.
Investigators say another boy said the teacher texted him a suggestive image of herself along with a message indicating that “she would like to have sex with him but he was too young.”
