Police are investigating the gruesome discovery of infant remains found along the PATH train tracks in New Jersey.
According to the New York Daily News, a Port Authority employee found a suitcase containing the remains of a ten-month-old bay along the tracks near the Jersey City-Journal Square station on Wednesday afternoon.
Police have not revealed the identity of the baby. According to ABC News, the infant is believed to be a girl, based on a preliminary medical examination.
A law enforcement source told the Daily News that investigators were traveling to Miami, Florida, to question a couple believed to be connected to the case, but it is not known who they are and what, if any, relationship to the child they might have.
Anyone with information about the infant or its family is asked to call the Hudson County prosecutor’s office at (201) 915-1345 or leave a tip on the website.
