Joseph Smith was sentenced to death for raping and murdering Carlie Brucia after kidnapping the 11-year-old girl from a Florida car wash in 2004. Florida’s high court has overturned the death sentence and ordered a new sentencing trial for Smith. Midlothian, Texas, police have no suspect despite security camera video of the killer at the crime scene.
