Authorities in Colorado have shared the identity of a man suspected of abducting a 12-year-old girl on Wednesday as she was walking home from school.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Raeanna Rosencrans, 12, was last seen getting into a car with a man who called out her name as she was walking with a friend in Grand Junction on Wednesday afternoon.
The Grand Junction Police department has identified a “strong person of interest” in the apparent abduction as Jody Haskin, 47, of Grand Junction. In a news release, the police department revealed that Haskin is Raeanna’s stepfather, but he had no parental rights. He is also a registered sex offender with an active arrest warrant in Grand Junction for the sexual assault of a child. State law prohibits the identification of his alleged victim.
Police said in the release that they believe Haskin is no longer in the Grand Junction area.
Raeanna is white with dark blonde hair and blue eyes. The is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 137 pounds.and was wearing a black & white top, black jeans, and Adidas shoes on Wednesday afternoon. She was carrying a black & white backpack.
Haskin is a white male standing about 6 feet tall an weighing 215 pounds. He is balding and wears glasses. He was reportedly wearing a green button-down shirt on Wednesday and driving a boxy green car.
Grand Junction Police have asked anyone who has seen either the missing girl or the suspect, or who might have information about their whereabouts, to call 911.
