A teen boy was allegedly caught on surveillance camera following a woman that he would stab to death because he wanted to know what murder felt like.
Per the Daily Mail, Russian teen Alexey Maximov, 15, is accused of stabbing Daria Evdokimova, 21, (pictured in red circle) in the eyes, neck, chest, and head moments after she pulled out money from an ATM. She reportedly died at the scene.
The teen was allegedly obsessed with computer games that focused on killing. Law enforcement sources supposedly told Russian newspaper Moskovskiy Komsomolets that he used a kitchen knife “to replay a scenario from his favorite computer game.”
“I did not intend to kill her, I was not going to. But a voice inside me told me what had to be done,” he said, according to the local paper. “I have always wanted to see when a person dies by your own hand.”
Maximov allegedly fled the scene after stealing $476. A policeman who reportedly witnessed the April 30 attack chased the assailant but lost him. Friends of the slain University of Moscow student said the victim’s boyfriend ran to the scene and found her bloodied body.
Police used CCTV and Maximov’s cellphone signal to track him to a nearby home—where he was playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) in his bedroom, according to the Daily Mail. His parents reportedly said that the 15-year-old has never been in trouble with the law.
The boy remains in custody as police conduct their murder investigation. Moskovskiy Komsomolets reported that officers have since seized his computer.
