Authorities in Florida say a woman stabbed her own son after he refused to purchase crack cocaine for her earlier this week.
According to the New York Post, 58-year-old Debra Denise Warren had been drinking at her Gainesville home when she expressed a desire for narcotics.
Police believe she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her son in the arm when he told her he would not buy the drugs for her.
The Gainesville Sun cited a police report claiming that Warren attempted to stab her son again, but the victim was able to wrest the weapon from her hands.
A witness reportedly called 911 and the alleged victim waited outside of the home with the knife until police arrived at the scene.
Though the suspect initially claimed her son struck her earlier in the day, authorities reported that they found no evidence to prove her story.
Furthermore, she allegedly accused both her son and a witness of providing false statements to police.
Warren was reportedly arrested at the scene and taken into police custody. She is expected to face criminal charges including aggravated battery.
