A Texas man is believed to have entered a Ponder home, where he allegedly shot and killed his three children and his ex-wife’s boyfriend before turning the gun on himself.

KXAS reported that the children’s mother, Amanda Simpson was shot in the shoulder during Wednesday morning’s shooting and is recovering in the hospital. With a bullet still lodged in her shoulder, Simpson took to Facebook and revealed her ex-husband, identified in public records as Justin Painter, was the person who carried out the grisly murder-suicide.

From her hospital bed, Simpson said she may have to undergo surgery after a bullet pierced her shoulder and became lodged under her opposite shoulder blade. She also claimed she broke a couple of ribs and a bone in her neck due to the shooting.

“I’ve relived it over and over and every time I close my eyes, I see my babies… I see them dead. Every time I close my eyes, you don’t want to know what I see,” she said.

The grieving mother went on to say that she was “extremely mad” with the judge who handled their divorce, as she warned that Painter was “mentally unstable” after he attempted suicide last year.

Simpson claimed she spoke to Painter Tuesday and had rejected his request to reconcile. She believes her decision is what pushed her ex-husband to kill their kids and Seth Richardson, Simpson’s boyfriend, before taking his own life.

“So now I don’t have my babies,” she said.”You guys know they were my everything, my purpose to breathe.”

During one of the videos, a tearful Simpson picks up a framed picture of her three slain kids and says, “Think about them. Don’t think about me.”
