Couple kills ‘severely neglected’ young girl, dumps body in storage unit across state line: Cops

Authorities in California and Nevada arrested a husband and wife this week on suspicion of killing the male suspect’s 5-year-old daughter.

According to KCRA, Tyler Anderson and Averyauna Anderson, both 23, were arrested on Wednesday.

Police in Reno, Nevada, say the couple lived in an apartment in the city, which is where they believe the young victim died at some point within the past two weeks.

According to reports, the couple allegedly rented a vehicle, which they used to transport the girl’s body to a storage facility in Sacramento. Officers were dispatched to the U-Haul facility Tuesday evening and found the remains upon searching the premises.

Personnel from the Sacramento and Reno police departments joined in the search of a storage unit being leased by the suspects.

Authorities had not released a cause of death as of the latest reports available but indicated that “the child had been severely neglected prior to her death.”

The male suspect was apprehended the following day in California and booked into Sacramento County Jail while his wife was arrested in Nevada and transported to Washoe County Jail.

David Hartman, the manager of the business where the victim’s body was found, expressed his dismay over the circumstances of the crime.

“It’s a tragedy that’s just occurred,” he said. “We’re cooperating with law enforcement 100 percent.”
