The Kansas woman who led a private investigator to the remains of 5-year-old Lucas Hernandez last month has died on early Friday morning, allegedly from a gunshot wound to the head.
According to KSN, authorities arrived to a home off of South Edgemoor in Wichita a little after 1:30 a.m. on Friday morning after Lucas’ father, Jonathan Hernandez, called 911 and said he found the woman inside the residence, not breathing, with an apparent gunshot wound. Police and paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced her dead.
Although police have not yet confirmed the deceased woman was Glass, friends indicated that it was indeed her. Lt. Rick Moscicki of the Wichita Police Department said that at this point, they cannot confirm whether the shooting was a suicide or a homicide until the investigation is complete. Hernandez is cooperating, according to police.
Glass has been a person of interest in the disappearance of Lucas since she reported him missing in February. She was not currently charged with his death when the shooting occurred.
The story is still developing. Check back with CrimeOnline as additional details become available.
