A pregnant Florida woman was found dead in a dumpster this week less than a day after her father’s body was found inside his home.

According to WFOR, 21-year-old Martine Bernard’s body was found early Tuesday morning behind her Flagler Village, her Fort Lauderdale apartment complex.

Investigators were on the scene to speak to the victim’s husband when they found the body, according to Fort Lauderdale Police Department source Casey Liening.

“Detectives were on scene and were able to take him into custody at the same time they discovered the body.”

Cassandritz Blanc, 22, is being held without bond at Broward County Jail as a suspect in the death of both his wife and her father.

“Roosevelt Bernard was found shot and killed early (Monday) morning a few yards outside of his home in the 2900 block of Washington street in a wooded area,” said Hollywood Police Department spokesperson Miranda Grossman.

Reports indicate Blanc has already been charged in connection with his wife’s death and is expecting to face charges related to killing his father-in-law.

The victims’ family is now left to process the loss of two close relatives in as many days.

“I’m shaken,” said Joane Bernard before her sister’s death had been confirmed. “This is my dad who does everything in his power to take care of us.”

A neighbor at Flagler Village described the crime as “disgusting,” adding that the news came as a shock.

“I think a person like that should burn in hell,” Eleanor Stearn said.
