A 24-year-old York, Pennsylvania, man is accused of celebrating his first night out of prison by downloading child porn to a computer.
The computer was owned by a person who had graciously offered to “put him up for the night,” Fox 43 reports, citing the Northern York County Regional Office.
Authorities arrested Keith Lenier Biegger on Tuesday. Among the charges he faces are possession of child pornography, disseminating child pornography, and possessing an instrument of crime.
The alleged crime violated his probation stemming from a 2014 conviction where he pleaded guilty to the sexual abuse of a minor, invasion of privacy, possession of child pornography, and indecent assault.
Due to the prior crime, Biegger registered as a sex offender under “Megan’s Law,” according to Fox 43.
Authorities released the pedophile from prison on March 26. Having just been released, he reportedly had nowhere to stay and was invited to spend the night at a friend of his brother’s home, located in Dover.
The criminal complaint says Biegger requested to use a laptop computer in order to contact friends, and was permitted to do so. After spending the night, he was driven to a homeless shelter by the man he stayed with for the night, who told police that he didn’t see Biegger again after dropping him off.
On May 28, the Northern Regional Police received a report from West York Police that child pornography was discovered on the Dover man’s laptop that was reportedly downloaded March 26, the same night Biegger stayed with the man and had access to his computer. No other computers in the home, which were not used by Biegger, were found to have pornography downloaded.
Authorities said a search of the computer revealed six videos and nine images of child pornography.
Biegger was subsequently arrested while staying at Julia’s Motel in Conewago Township, according to police. He remains behind bars with a $200,000 bond
