Georgia authorities say an Alpharetta woman arrested for drunk driving on June 18 had her two young children in the car when she clipped another vehicle on the road before crashing her own car.
WSB-TV reports that Nathalie Bevis, 45, reportedly clipped an SUV while driving down Windward Parkway in Alpharetta on June 18, after allegedly throwing a bottle from her window. Shortly after, she crashed her car while on the road with her two children, ages 10 and 8, inside the vehicle.
The children told police that Bevis “always does this,” according to Alpharetta police spokesman Howard Miller, who told WSB-TV that the children informed authorities that their mother was drunk and they were scared.
“She told me to tell you that I don’t want to live with my mom anymore. My dad said if I get into a wreck with her one more time, then they’re gonna get a divorce,” one of the children reportedly told an officer.
When an Alpharetta police officer questioned Bevis, she claimed she only had “one beer last night.”
Bever is facing charges of DUI and child endangerment.
