Police in California are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who reportedly donned clown makeup and robbed a woman on July 4, outside of a Pasadena check cashing business.
Surveillance footage made public by the Pasadena Police Department shows a woman exiting a building and walking into a parking lot with her purse on her arm. Nearly out of frame, a maroon car can be seen approaching the woman before dragging her for several feet by the same arm her purse was on.
Moments later, the freed woman is seen sitting on the ground sans purse. Several patrons come to the woman’s aid as the vehicle zooms off.
The victim said the suspect who robbed her was a black man who painted with his face with black and white makeup to resemble a clown. Police said the car involved in the July 4 incident appears to be a Ford Edge with paper plates.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding the July 4 incident can call Detective J. Jernigan with the Pasadena Police Department at 713-475-7803.
